Save our society

We need your help

AWMTC really needs your support. Costs are rising, and local theatre is under threat.

We have been entertaining the community for over 75 years, but keeping the curtain up is becoming harder than ever. From soaring venue hire to costume and licensing fees, the cost of putting on a show has never been higher.

We’re a charity run entirely by volunteers. Every penny we raise goes straight back into making theatre accessible, affordable, and alive in our local area. But without extra help, we face difficult decisions about the future of our productions.

How you can help

Donate – Every contribution, no matter how small, helps keep our lights on.

Sponsor a show – Get your business in front of local audiences while supporting the arts. Get in touch for more information.

Spread the word – Share our campaign with friends, family and on social media.

Come and see us – Book a ticket, bring a friend, and enjoy a great night out.

Together, we can save our society and keep the magic of live theatre going for years to come.

Who we are and what we do

AWMTC has been around for over 75 years, putting on professional standard productions. We’re incredibly proud of our cast and team that work so hard to deliver outstanding performances.

We’re passionate about theatre and want to see the society continue for many many years. It’s a wonderful place to come and meet like-minded people, and indulge in our love of musical theatre.

Without us, the local area of Alderley and Wilmslow would be without an adult musical theatre society, and subsequently lose the great shows we put on every year.

We need to survive to nurture new talent, encourage those who want to go professional, and be a safe haven for those who love to get up and sing, dance, act, and generally have a lot of fun on stage.

We believe that theatre is for everyone – on and off stage. We’re a diverse society, with a wide age range, and considerate of anyone with neurodivergent and mental health needs. We’ve also included relaxed performances for all our shows so everyone can enjoy theatre in their own way.

Please support us in these tough times with any donation you can afford.
